Athol was saddened by an accident that robbed the community of one of its best young men. A.F. Ellinwood was rolling logs in the yard of his father's sawmill at 3:30 a.m. When he did not respond to the breakfast summons, search was made, and he was found lying crushed and dead under the logs. He was 28, and had been afflicted with a heart disease, and it was probably he dropped dead by the cause, coupled with extra exertion.
