Note: Merlin was drafted in 1942 and served as Cpl. and drove trucks in Georgia before being sent into action in France
and Germany. He was stationed later in Holland and Denmark on Police duty before returning to U.S. and receiving his discharge in 1946.

Note: Sherwin was drafted in 1942. He was a truck driver, made Sgt. before being shipped to France, just as the Armistice was signed then sent to Germany. He brought out one load of displaced persons and returned to the U.S.A., he received his discharge in 1946.
