Adams, Julia {I0043} (b. 10 MAR 1819, d. 25 AUG 1884)

Note: By the time of the 1922 Adams family reunion in delaware Co.,OH the only family information was known about Julia was her date of birth from the family bible, her husband's surname and the names of her children. She died sometime between 1850 census and 1854 when her husband remarried. Her husband Almon case is buried in his sister's plot but there are no gravestones for either wife{note, the spouses of the Case children have not been confirmes but are probably correct. Take the ? as such until further research confirms their names.

Adams, Eliza {I0044} (b. 29 JUL 1822, d. 1858)
Note: Though Eliza's parents were in Putnam Co., NY in May 1841, where they were settling the inheritance of her mother Chloe {Shaw) Adams, they returned to IN by fall. Robert Adams transferred 40 acres in Troy Whitley Co., IN to his daughter
Eliza Hartsock in August 1841. The 1840 census showed Isaac Hartsock as B. PA, his parents Samuel, b.PA, and his mother Elizabeth KY. Eliza died in 1858 leaving a young family. In 1860 Isaac was raising his children alone and by 1880 he was living with his two unmarried sisters, Hannah and Jennie.

Gilbert D.Adams was elected Mayor in 1836 and Caleb Worley was elected recorder. In 1837. Samuel Patterson was elected mayor and W.B. Jones was elected recorder.On June 26,1837, the council met to appoint successors to Patterson and Jones as they refused to serve in their elected positions. They were also fined on that date a sum of $2.00 each.


Gilbert D. was also elected Mayor in 1835, Miami Co, Newberry Twp.OH

Philip Adams and Phoebe (Travis)Adams m.1808 N.Y. State.
came to Warren Co.,Oh 1823 and then to Miami Co.,1831,moved to washiongton Twp. Philip died 1874 age 91, his wife survived him 6 years, dieing in 1880, age 89. Family of 11 children whom grew to maturity and 9 are now living, seven residents of this county.

His father was a soldier in the Revolutionary war and he of the war of 1812, 3 sons and 7 great grandsons in the war at the Rebellion.

Clark next to the youngest,b 1827 (m) to Mary E.Morgan(dau) of Marshall and Elizabeth (Boggs) Morgan.

Clark served in the Ohio National Guard for 5 years. Lived Washington Twp.,Miami Co.,Oh.

Children living ;Annie, Mrs Andrew J. Orr, of Illinois,-Luella, Mrs. Andrew Frank of Washington twp and Clara at home.

In 1850 Harvey, a blacksmith was living with family of his sister, William and Jerusha (Adams) Cochran. He served as Corp. in Co.K. 121 Ohio Volunteer Infantry.

Mrs. Rachel T. Merrill dies at the home of the Rev. Thomas Burrows in Roudout, New York, her son-in-law.
Mr. I.D. Lewis of Summit Street announcing the death of her mother, Mrs. Rachel T. Merrill occured on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The remains will be brought to Marion for interment. The funeral party will arrive on saturday morning and the services will take place from the Fred Haberman Home on saturday afternoon at an hour not yet fixed upon.
Mrs. Merrill was well known to the elder residents of Marion, having resided here from early Marion days until some few years ago, when after the death of Mrs. D.S. Jones, she went to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Burrows. The latter died some two years ago. Mrs. Merrill was a sister to the late Weaver A. Turney and was twiced married. Her seconded husband being the late Judge John Merrill. A sister, Mrs. thomas Davids of Richwood and two step-daughters; Mrs. I.D. Lewis and Mrs. L. M. Berringer survived the deceased.


Rachel Turney Adams and her daughters, Lenora and Sophrona, were living (1850) with her sister's family, John and Leah (Turney) Merrill of Marion,Oh. After her sister died, Rachel married John Merrill. After his death and that of her daughter Lenora, Rachel went to live with her daughter Sophrona Burrows in Rondout, Ulster Co.,NY. rachel died there and was buried in Marion, Oh.

The body was taken to Sunbury where the funeral services will be held.

Orren Adams dies at home east of Waldo,Funeral will be held Thursday afternoon .
Waldo,OH Jan 23(special)
Orren Adams died Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at his home at Bartlett's Corner east of here. His death followed illness of appendicitus.
Mr. Adams was forty-two years of age' He is survived by his widow, who was formerly Miss Iva Strine of Waldo.Three sisters also survive.
The funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'c;ock from the Reformed Church, in charge of the pastor, Rev. J.K. Murglin
Burial will be made in the Waldo Cemetery.
