Marriage of Adams, Augustus {I1790} (b. 8 AUG 1841, d. 8 AUG 1908) and Andrews, Ophelia {I0105} (b. JUL 1846, d. 1917)

Note: Augustus was nephew of my Great Grandmother Julia Adams Ellinwood and I found his Grandchildren by obituaries and found a great grand daughter who I met in Richwood,Ohio where she lives now. Her name is Peggy Wiley granddaughter of Elsie Mae Adams Boyd and daughter of Pearl Afton Boyd of MT.Victory,OH. Her grandfather's name was Palmer Choe Boyd.

Marriage of R.Adams, Moses {I0008} (b. 1788, d. ?) and Hulse, Betsy {I0060} (b. 1791, d. ?)
Note: Moses R,Adams moved from NY to Berlin ,Delaware Co.Oh.1829/30. He and his wife sold out the last of their land (4 acres) in Delaware Co. in late 1840.He moved to Van Wert Oh by 1850,his wife having died in the intervening decade. In Van Wert (1850) living with Moses R.Adams, farmer, besides son Harvey.was a Elizabeth A.Adams(b.1823 OH),?daughter -in-law , and children Emily b.1840 OH.Rachel b. 1844 OH and Charles b.1849 OH. The names of Moses R.Adams children were supplied by "Meda"Roloson,d/o Jesse,probably at the 1925 Adams reunion held in Delaware OH. No gravestones for any of this family(except Jesse) in either Delaware or Van Wert counties Oh.

Father of Betsy Hulse Adams is John Hulse.Mother of Betsy Hulse Adams is
unknown.

Marriage of J.Adams, Gilbert {I0009} (b. 1792, d. 2 AUG 1836) and Adams, Hannah( Adams ) {I0070} (b. 1800, d. ?)
Note: In 1831 Gilbert J.and Hannah (Adams)Adams sold their (now) Putnam Valley land(270) acres to Hannah's father Jason Adams.Gilbert J.Adams moved to Delaware County,Oh. where he purchased land in Berlin from his brother
Moses R.Adams and wife Betsy, land originally purchased from Charles Waters(who the widow Hannah married in 1839).LA on Gilbert Adams (1840) to Charles and Hannah Waters resulted in a court dispute. In 1844 Hannah
Waters."widow of Charles Waters,late widow of Gilbert J.Adams,"Harlow & wife Margaret Adams, and Ann Eliza,Minerva,Julia and Emily Adams of Delaware Co.OH.quitclaimed (for $1) 150 acres in Putnam Valley NY to Jason Adams(recorded both in Putnam Co.NY and Delaware Co.OH.


Hannah Adams married Charles waters after Gilbert died on Dec.24,1839
and then after Charles died she married William Rose and nothing further on her after 1850/60.Minerva a daughter never married and no trace of her after 1850/60.,unless she married after that.

Gilbert J.Adams was my Great Grandfather on my fathers side of the family.

Marriage of Raynor, Samuel {I0076} (b. , d. ?) and Adams, Sarah {I0010} (b. , d. ?)
Note: In his 1825 will Gilbert Adams specified that each of his two grandsons, children of his daughter Sarah Rayner (presumably deceased though not so stated), were to be paid $50 each when they reached age 21. In 1810 in Putnam Valley, there was a Samuel Raynor living in the vicinty of Gilbert's other children.They were a young couple with no children.(No marraige record or gravestone found).

Marriage of Adams, Rev.Bartholomew {I0011} (b. 4 APR 1797, d. ?) and Van Nostrand, Helena Maria {I0079} (b. 1806, d. ?)
Note: Bartholomew Adams moved first to Wayne Co.NY 1834.5 (as per deed) where his son was born.By 1837 (when he performed a marriage) he was living in Berkshire Twsp Delaware Co.OH LA (1850) on Rev. Bartholomew Adams (on docket Delaware Co.OH).

After Bartholomew died Helena married Isaac G
The following was found; Army Land warrants issued to #187 Adams,Bartholomew PVT #10693, date Sep.2,1789 acres 100.

Helena was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth(Meade)Van Nostrand.

Marriage of Adams, Lemuel Munger {I0082} (b. 1810, d. ?) and Ann(Adams)Adams, Adah {I0012} (b. 1799, d. ?)
Note: Adah Ann (Adams) and Lemuel Munger Adams moved to Delaware County Oh.,1832/3,probably with her mother and brother Mabah D,Adams. Adah and Munger sold out c.1842 and moved to Washington twsp Allen Co,In.,Between 1850 and 1854 the family moved first to Warsaw(Kosciusko CO) IN and then Bourbon(Marshall Co>)IN.Where Adah died not found If the unrecorded Juliette Adams was her daughter,Adah was about 50 when Juliette was born(?in Allen Co.)

Though Munger was always referred to and married to Adah as "Munger Adans">he signed deeds, appeared in the census and married second in 1857 as Lemuel M>Adams.

The information from granddaughter Mary Elizabeth (Brooks)Newton.that Adah and Munger were cousins and by implication that Gilbert and Moses were brothers, links Gilbert to the others.

Marriage of Rundle, John {I0091} (b. 1806, d. 1875) and Adams, Zillah {I1496} (b. 1801, d. 8 AUG 1832)
Note: Zillah Adams Rundle/Rundall (buried as Zillah Randall) between her brothers and probably her mother) moved 1830/2 to Berlin Delaware Co.OH.where she died in childbirth. Her husband remarried several times and died on the Oregon trail.

Marriage of Adams, Lewis {I0039} (b. 20 AUG 1810, d. 3 JUN 1896) and Brown, Harriet {I0174} (b. 29 JUN 1838, d. 2 JAN 1873)
Note: Lewis Adams, living alone, was in Delaware Township,Delaware Co.Oh by the 1840 census. In 1850 he was living in Troy Township,Whitley Co.,IN with his recently widowed brother Levi Adams in the home of their sister Zillah Tinkham. About the 1850ies,Lewis built a two story brick house overlooking Troy Cedar Lake, a house almost identical to that his cousin Gilbert D.Adams built near Covington OH. Both houses, unusual in an area of the country where frame houses are the rule,are both still standing.Lewis Adams represented Whitley County, as a Democrat,in the 1858 Indiana State Legislature.Later according to an undated newspaper clipping,he was one of the prime movers of the People's Party in 1874.

Note: Levi Adams was married twice,1st wife Hannah Fowler and they had three children;Anvalina,Oscar and Hannah A. His second wife was Mary Meyers(1828-1897) marr;Jan.2,1851 in Indiana. They had three children Charles W., (David)Henry, and Ida L.

Levi Adams married Hannah Fowler in Delaware Co.OH. Her parents ,living in Orange Twsp,came from Putnam Co.NY about 1833(but see footnote).Levi received an earmark in Troy,Whitley Co.IN in 1846. In 1850 after the death of his wife and their youngest child, he and his brother Lewis were living in the home of their sister Zillah Tinkham in Whitley CO,IN.In 1850 Levi's two older children were living with the Fowler grandparents in Orange Co.OH.
